GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Valid Passport
2. Work Permit is valid for 1 year
3. Work Permit is NOT renewable, must re-apply every year
4. You can re-apply 1 month before your previous work permit expires
5. You may apply for Permanent Residency after receiving your 2nd year work permit
6. Recommendation from Belize Tourism Board or Relative Agency if the business is Tourism oriented. (Preferably arrange appointment)
7. When your work permit is approved we will request a letter from the Income Tax and thereafter we will receive your work permit from the Immigration Department.
8. You will be required to apply for your Social Security Card in the district you will conduct your business, we will provide you with the application form.
DOCUMENTS NEEDED FOR DIRECTORS
1. Application for Self-Employment
2. Three (3) Passport Photographs
3. Recommendation from Village Council/Town Board of place of business
4. Bank Reference Letter in the company’s name or the director from a Bank in Belize
5. Certificate of Incorporation
6. Resolution of Directors
7. Copy of Applicant’s Passport
8. Amount of Investment propose to make in Belize/Support documentation
9. Title/Agreement to Purchase Land/House or Lease of Property
10. Company Profile/Details of the business
11. Resume/Qualifications/Certificate/Diploma
PAYMENTS REQUIRED

Processing fee for single applicant for Work Permit	US	$ 600.00

Administrative & Miscellaneous Expenses (Courier, Telephone, Fax, Photocopy, Stamp & Trip to Belmopan)	US	$ 100.00
TOTAL	US	$ 700.00

General Sales Tax (10% of $700.00)	US	$ 70.00

TOTAL DUE	US	$ 770.00

Please take note that Annual Fees to be paid to the Government is BZ $ 2,000.00 Cash due on receipt of work permit.
This is not included in our fees and must be paid separately to the Government of Belize.

Note that whenever a company is applying for more than 1 work permit the 2nd subsequent application will be for a cost of US $400.00, plus Administrative Fees of US $100.00 plus General Sales Tax of 10% for a total of US $550.00 (same price as re-application fee).
